The three Belgian trade union organisations have announced that they will lead a general strike in common front which would take place on Monday 30 January 2012. The strike notice comes into force from Sunday 29 January 10pm till Monday 30 January 10pm. This national action could impact the air traffic control.
Following a meeting that took place at Brussels Airport today 27 January 2012, Belgocontrol can announce that all air traffic control services should be carried out normally. However, disturbances might still occur if staff members are in the impossibility to reach their workplace due to blockades. Other stakeholders of the air transport sector could also be concerned, such as airport operators, the fire brigade or handling services. This could also cause inconvenience for the passengers.
In any case, we advise passengers to contact their airline to get more information on their flight.
