Corporate Risk Manager

The function
As our Corporate Risk Manager you facilitate the risk-based decision-making processes within Belgocontrol by introducing the Enterprise Risk Management System (ERMS) and monitoring the correct application of this methodology.
You introduce the Enterprise Risk Management System (ERMS). That includes e.g.: 
  • communicating and promoting the Risk Management methodology as well as the tools to support it;
  • increasing awareness regarding Risk Management through e.g. workshops or publications;
  • following up the new developments regarding Risk Management;
  • evaluating and improving the Risk Management System in collaboration with the Local Risk Managers.
You facilitate and monitor the correct application of the ERMS by:
  • coordinating and performing the strategic risk assessments;
  • organising and facilitating workshops for analysing the risks;
  • acting as SPOC for the Risk Management System;
  • developing and training the staff members involved in Risk Management;
  • reporting to the Executive Committee;
  • facilitating the decision-making processes on whether or not to accept risks;
  • managing the Risk Management Tool. 
You coordinate the Local Risk Managers team, which includes:
  • organising meetings for the overarching team (Risk working group);
  • coaching the Local Risk Managers through e.g. on-the-job training.


Your profile


  • You hold at least a Bachelor degree in a technical discipline and you have an outspoken affinity for engineering;
  • You have previously held risk management functions with one or more organisations;
  • You hold one or more industry recognised Risk Management certifications (e.g. IRM, AIRMIC, ALARM,‚Ķ);
  • Any previous interactions with other protective disciplines (e.g. Business Continuity, Information Security, Physical Security) is an asset;
  • You have a good understanding of current Risk Management Standards and practices;
  • You are able to work autonomously and to cope with pressure;
  • You are able to translate and apply a methodology to the reality of a business environment;
  • You have strong moderator skills in a multidisciplinary environment;
  • You have good communication, negotiation and influencing skills;
  • You are able to analyse, aggregate and consolidate;
  • You are a problem solver;
  • You have strong decision making/supporting capabilities;
  • You have an active knowledge of Dutch, French and English.
